    transmission swap

I have a 67 ford 289 with a C4. I would like to use a rebuilt 88 AOD that I have. The problem I see is the electronics or lack of a computer for the AOD. Does anyone make a kit for this type swap? Any simple way to control the transmission? Or do I need to find a 81 to 85 AOD?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. A gearvendors overdrive is beyond my budget.

Thanks for the link. Now I have another question. How does one know if the four plug electrical connection was used for computer control or just nuetral safety and back up lamps.

The AOD does not use a computer and the four wire plug is used for the neutral switch and the backup lights, ifyour trans has a cable or rod that hooks to the carb or throttle body you have a AOD and if it does not you might have a E4OD and that trans needs a computer. Jeff

Thank you for your help Jeff. Now I have a C4 with a kick down. I am looking to install the AOD but I need to hook up the TV? cable for positive pressure. Not sure but I assume someone makes a bracket to use with a Holley carb.

Noticed you are from Dayton, Ohio (I assume) I just moved from Brookville Ohio to Wisconsin. I worked in Dayton near Huber Hieghts.
