Does the size of the line (3/16 or 1/4) connecting the clutch MC to the clutch external slave (using mechanical TOB not hydraulic TOB) effect the stroke of the slave?

Everything I read says the bore sizes of the two cylinders is what determines slave stroke length but - a manufacturer's tech told me the line size will effect the slave stroke length and I can't find any info on that.
