    C-6 tranny

I spied a vacuum like device sticking off the passenger side of the tranny with a short piece of 90 degree tubing hanging off it. Any ideas what this is and where it goes?
Second to connect the tranny lines to the radiator, there are two hard tubing lines. Does it matter which one connects to what side of the the radiator, and if I'm using stainless braided hose is there a special AN fitting that connects to the flared tubing coming off the tranny, or do you just use a hose clamp on that side? Thanks. I'll post a picture if it helps!

A picture would be good. The Modulator gets manifold vacuum to it. On the rear
of the trans pass side if I remember right. The cooling lines don"t care what side
they go to. I wouldn't use hose clamps. You can get fittings I'm sure.

Shoprat is right in both cases.
But I always like to throw a trany cooler on the front of the radiator
for added protection against over heating, plus some added Quantity of fluid
for the trany helps too. Kurt

Thanks guys, The pan is a derale with cooling tubes running through it and extra quart or two fluid capacity. The radiator is a custom built aluminum one for the engine and tranny setup. I'm running Mobil 1 synthetic fluid, per the rebuilder's recomendation(and warrenty!).
On the AN fittings what are the ends that hook up to the flared tubing called?

You are correct ,those lines are set up for hose clamps ,in order to use a flair fitting ,you would have to have a flair tool and the correct flair to AN fitting.

If you use a hose just push some extra on there and use 2 clamps.
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

I bought a 73 pickup w/390 & c-6 cheap once .... the guy did a valve job and put it back together and it still smoked .... the whole time the modulator was bad and sucking tranny fluid into the intake . Sometimes that preformed hose will blow off if it is excessivly dirty and the engine backfires through the carb.

I got the Derale pan on Ebay. I believe they have been discontinued in the c-6 size.
