Chev. 4wd Tranny?
Can anyone tell me what the mechanic means when he says my "sun shield" is out in my transmission? It's a 97 model chev. 4wd automatic....its making a grinding sound and only goes in 1st gear? Thanks for any help!

"Sun" drum is cracked or hub on drum is wiped out. It's not possible to tell that unless it has had a complete tear down.
Grinding is coming from a planet gear, if he's any good with his ears, he's "close" to the problem. As far as where the part failure is.
DragKing's right, it needs a tear down and going through. What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

700R4 Upgrade
Heres a pic, the stock "sun shell" is a weak link in a 700R4 replace it with this known as "The Beast" T.C.I. has these.
I've had a lot of BIG things happening to me lately but now I'm back to working on the car some, it feels good! The tranny mount was bad and that helped put everything back where it should be....
SB distributor won't fit
