The bolts on mine are regular hex bolts. I don't know why the fellow didn't use the Hurst supplied ones, perhaps the thread size was different??
Thanks for the info Glenn, I will back these out and see if I can find the correct style, and size.

You should use a sweal puller and a seal installer. There should be a little play.Mechanic for 38 years.

well there should be a little play in the out put shaft . what you have sounds fine ... as for the front seal, you just need to take the four bolts that hold the throw out bearing sleeve on and the seal is under there be careful that you don't drop the shim out where the front bearing race is... if you don't have a steel sleeve I would reccomend puting one in now may save you from a lot of throw out bearing binding and chatter...just use a little rtv "ultra black" when you put the sleeve back on..... hope this helps

Thanks Simon,
When you say be careful not to drop the sleeve, do you mean it may drop down inside the tranny?
When you say add one, if there isn't one, do I just ask for a T5 tranny input sleeve at the auto parts store. Do I have to worry about different sizes, or bring info on the particular T5 that I have? I know it's a World Class T5, but other than that I can't find much info on it in particular (other than gear ratios).
Thanks, Bill

I think what Simon is after is the following:
(The picture may not be exact - but should be real close to your T5)
1. If your input sleeve (number 12 below) is aluminum or cast, replace it with a steel unit. They're available from Ford in their parts department as an after market.
2. Replace the seal (number 13 below)
3. Be careful not to loose the shim"Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil
