700R4 valve body sep. plates
hey Fellows:
Does anyone know the meaning of the letter on the 700r4 valve body seperator plates. I believe it has to do with calibration for a particular vehecial. How many different plates were made??

There are probably a dozen different transmissions made for each year and the letter code on the separator plate identifies which tranny it belongs to. Each tranny also has an ID tag attached to it, so if you have both numbers, you could identify which year tranny you have and if they are properly matched.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

Is the plate code in the ID tag somehow?

The tranny code and the plate code correspond, if not, you are asking for trouble. They are both different numbers/codes, however, if you buy a manuel, you can see which plate belongs to which tranny. Good luck!Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
on small cars yes. but fat fender cars are pretty much the same in size and weight as the donor car. i found s10 brakes work great on fat fender and pickups. a deuce will just need manual brakes...
Time for brakes
