    TCI 700R4 Leaky Blues

I have a TH 350 that I bought Used from the wrecking yard, recharged core, and fresh paint on outside, paid $900 bucks, oh, and also 2nd stage shift kit...

Now, I originally purchased a TCI SSF 700R4 with the High Stall TC to go with...paid cash, close to $5000, day I drove it home, leaked....

GM dealership installed it, TCI washes its hands of it, I am stuck with it....

I am pissed that nobody really stands behind with they sell.

This tranny was pulled and taken apart, put back together, reinstalled, and now is leaking again, less than 1000 miles this time.

TCI has pissed me off, GMC has pissed me off.

the Raptor Tranny would have been a better choice, made by a different manufactuer, and I would never go to GMC ever again for any kind of work on any of my vehicles, and I am even considering changing brands, even though I have been loyal to GM all of my working Life....

With a blown motor especially a BBC you will have no need for the deep 1st gear of the 700r. The T-400 is a good choice with a good rebuild and a shift kit.

I think you will have tough time keeping the 700r together with a blown bbc in any car.

I use a T-350 in my blown sbc Willys and would have no need what ever for a lower 1st gear. Mine has got 7500 miles on it in less than a year. Probably 1000 yards of burnt rubber. haha

Dollars and cents wise you can buy a lot of T-400's for what you will have in any OD trans.

Keep in mind that the OD will only be good if you are cruising at 65+ . Below 50 it probably won't engage anyway.

My TCI SSF 700R4 will and does go into OD or 4th as low as 35-40mph, and when you hit the gas will stutter, seems to be the TC locking up and unlocking rapidly, but when you ease off the gas will stay in 4th and won't down shift..., when you manually shift to 3rd, and press the gas, seems to work better, when you get to 50-65mph and shift to OD or 4th then tranny seems to vibrate more the faster you go and it wants to go, but because of vibration scares me to go faster than 85mph
