Alright guys, I'm building a 37 chevy pickup with a 350 small block and a muncie m20. I am using a hydrolic clutch setup and it doesnt want to engage fully for me. The clutch slips like crazy. Ive been removing shims between the tranny and the bearing on the imput shaft but still no change in slippage. I was reading something about over stroking the throwout bearing. Is this true. What seems to be my problem.
Yep it sounds like you overstroked the bearing. I did the same thing twice on my Cobra...cured the problem by installing an adjustable stop on the clutch pedal, there was too much throw in the pedal travel
And how much stroke do you have in the slave cylinder?
Since I overstroked it, I'm guessing I have to pull the tranny and push it back in then make an adjustable stop.
Most of the manufacturer's sell a fixture for adjusting their hydraulic clutches.....Takes a lot of the guesswork out of it....
