    5 speed stick conversion questions.

Hi guys...I just got a great deal on an eng/trans combo that I couldnt refuse!
Its a SBC 350 and 5 speed transmission w/ transfer case. It came out of a 95 Chevy 1500 4wd pickup. I want to take off the transfercase and use the eng/trans combo in a 2wd vehicle. Anyone know how much of a pain it is to convert the trans mission back to a two wheel drive setup? Oh yea, also, it didnt come with a floor shifter, any ideas whats compatable, or do I havta get a stock shifter and modify it??

For sure you'll have to change out the tailshaft housing... Depending on what tanny it is, might or might not have to change the tailshaft...

I believe you will have to have a new tailshaft put in and a tail shaft housing..And about the shifter Hurst makes a shifter for them, and Summit Racing sells them.......If you want to sell the tranny/transfercase I might be interested..
O 1 more thing if it came out of a 1/2ton truck it should be a NV3500, and some 3/4,1 tone trucks had the NV4500 which would be cast iron...

    Good luck

Thanks for the input guys.....I did some research and found that its gonna cost more than I want to spend to convert it to a 2WD setup. I really only wanted the engine but the deal was buy all or nothing!...

So Chevyboy, ifn youre still interested, Im going to sell the trans and transfer case as a package deal....you still interested?? Ill give you first shot before I list it on ebay!!.....I'll take $400 for both if that sounds fair.
