    37 chevy 3 speed tranny

I need some advice on a completly rebuilt 3 speed tranny from a 37 chevy truck. It was given to me as payment for work done. My 37 has a 300 HP 305 engine(at the crank) and I have a 350 tranny in it now.. I can make my own adapter so the 3 speed can fit my 305, but was wondering how it would hold up to the extra HP and torque(313 lbs.)
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Don't bother. They're a cluster buster, marginal behind a Dipper.

Put it on Evellbay - a restorer can use it. It sure wont take a modern STOCK V8 Chebbie's horsepower. Heck, it had trouble holding up to anyone that drove a '37 '6' aggressively.

Dont even think about it as I damaged 2 with a 120 or so HP 235,I hope I dont do the same with the T-5 that replaced the original. Jeff
