If the engine is original from the '89, you will need year specific flywheel with a weight on it. Two pieces rear main engine (85 and earlier) had a counter weight. The post 85 (86 on) had no counter weight thus requiring a weighted flywheel/flexplate. Easily found flywheels at salvage yards and dealer for your application. Do a little digging for the one you want for the size clutch you plan to run.
Thanks for correcting my info, Nitro!!!! Didn't know there was a difference in chebbie flywheels. Guess I should stick to my Blue Oval stuff, huh????
