T-5 Tranny question
Hi folks. I have an inline 6 cylinder 230 from a '69 camaro that apparently had powerglide. I have no bell housing! I want to install it in our Rod Project and use a Chevy S-10 standard 5 speed behind it. Can someone tell me what I need please? I posted this on the inline forum but didn't get the answer I need. I presume I need to change the flywheel on it. Thanks in advance. perley oldrodder43

Your gonna have to find a T5 that was behind a 4.3L s10, or one out of a camaro, and get a flywheel for the inline, but Im not sure what clutch would work for you, Ill try to find out...

A regular Chev aluminum bell will work, V8 or six. Flywheel, too. Most T5's will work, too, but the S10 ones have the shifter farther forward than the Camaro/Firebird, depends on your application. Even the Chevette trans will work on your six.
on small cars yes. but fat fender cars are pretty much the same in size and weight as the donor car. i found s10 brakes work great on fat fender and pickups. a deuce will just need manual brakes...
Time for brakes
