    Thanks but my transmission only has 2 shift levers and is a 3 speed. M20 or M21 are 4 speed.

    It looks like a 71-72 Muncie MC1. However, I can't tie the case number. Are you sure the number is correct? The case casting number should be on the machined surface of the case near the bottom bolt on the lower right side of your photo.

    3911942
    = 69 - 72 Muncie
    MC1 Extension (Tailshaft housing)

    3952646 = 71 - 72 Muncie MC1 Side Cover

    If the length of the case is 11" it is a Muncie 330 3 speed transmission.

    Look at ceh383 "this". My guess was going to be a Saginaw 3 spd which according to "this" it is. Check the boss in front of the rear lever mount as the identifier. These were what replaced the 55 to 62 3 spds. Not very strong.

    sorry, definately not a saginaw. saginaw side covers are totally different. also this trans has double bearings and saginaw has single bearings. it's a muncie MC-1 and a very stout version. cast iron case, 1" countershaft, double bearings make for a very strong unit

    No, it is not a Saginaw. Here are some pictures of one of those.
