    TH350, or 400, or 700r4

I am putting together a 33 Highboy with a blown 392 Hemi. It will be a weekend criuser, maybe even do some power tour stuff, and, with maybe a few runs to the drags to to see what it will turn. What kind of recomendations do you suggest for a trans? I will have a ford 9" with posi trak, and probably 3:2 to 3:7 gears in the back end. If I were to go the 350 or 400 I would probably put a dear vendors OD in it, but if I stay with the 700r4 I will already have an OD. Any and all help will be appreciated

    Thanks

.....a 700R4 won't take a whole lot of HP. I had one that was suppose to take 500 HP. I blew it up with 440 HP & 499 Ft. Lb's.... With a blown 392 I'd go with the 400 Turbo.... JMO though, Bill

I would go with the built 400 with the Gear Vendors OD and shifter mounted electric shift control on the OD unit.

IMO that is too much engine for the 700R4, even if you got lucky and got a really good one.

    Thumbs up thanks

Thanks guys, and that is what I am looking for is honest answers, and real world experience, so now I can tell my frame maker what kind of trans is going to be behind my engine.

    Thanks,
    Mike
