Didn't mean to leave you hanging here. The main accumulator is inside the unit. It's necessary to tear a lot of the components down to see how it travels and works such as valve body etc. They do get "gunked" up with debris. This is another indication of clutch wear causing a lot of grief. Remember the accumulator's main purpose to "soften" the shift so as not to "bang the gears" when it does. Every aspect of tear down will show you how worn or how bad this unit has become. Science projects were only fun in junior high school not our rides. Keep us informed. oh, and the servo pistons will also become "gunked" up with material and I recommend a great book or somebody to help see what's what while you do this. Still sounds like it's time to tear down.Last edited by nitrowarrior; 04-24-2007 at 10:53 AM.
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?
