    Question 700r/4L60

     



    hey guys first time to post on this great forum. working on a friends 57 chev that has a700r or 4L60 but don't know how to tell what year it is? anybody have information on this.thanks

    on the pass. side ot the tranny there is a flat area just above the pan with numbers stamped into it the first number will the year 6 would be an 86 0 would be a 90 2 could be 82 or 92 700s built before 89 had three pressure taps on th e pass side newer ones do not 87 came out with aux. valve body if you drop the pan you will see a steel tube from the pump to a small valve body in the rear.
