The tranny is out of a Firebird, 400 block. I dont know anything about trannys, but i good with mechanics, can anyone suggest a book or manual that might help me to do-it-myself. Or is to intricate and better left to a pro.
its all kinds of good books, but wheather you can do it or not is the ? anybody can learn how to rebuild auto. trans. but it sure would help to work with someone else the first few times. to do a good job on a trans. you need to understand how it works. it would be nice if you could find someone that would let yhou work with them cleaning parts, let you see how its done. i did them for for yrs. and did ok but after i went to my first GM school on them i got good at it. good luck.
