    MII lower control arms?

I have two sets of MII lower control arms. I bought 4 bushings , the first pair are 13 1/2" bolt to ball joint centers and the MII bushings worked fine . The second set are 12" centers and the bushings are too big!! Are these arms Pintos (71 to 73) I miked them at 1.375"+1.300 inside. I need replacement bushings cause I burned them out!!!!! Thanks for help Dave!

I have pinto front ends at the shop, I will measure them for you and report what I find tomorrow. Best I can do davee.

By the way, how did you burn them out?

Hi Brickman I first cut off any rubber sticking out (also drilled a few 1/4"around in the rubber)Sprayed with WD-40 . Used a torch on low heat and let both sides burn (do this outside) Then I cut 1"out of the steel bushing , sprayed them with WD-40 and punched them out with big chisel. When installing the new bushings put them in the frezzer for 12hrs, use white grease to install them on a press with a large socket. Use steel spacers in the center of the control arm so it will not distort when pressing in the bushing. Dave

Well, I painted everything and then decided I better replace all the bushings. I am already replacing the ball joints.

As you can see by the photo that I have bead blasted and painted the a-arms, is there any suggestions as to how to get them out with out burning them out?

I don't have a press, but if they can be pressed out thats what I'll do, any ideas people?

I use an air chisel to take the bushings out on A-Arms. Works great.
