    Rack Ratio

48 Jeepster, MII Type Front Suspension. T-Bird power Rack ,2.5 turns lock to lock ,Steering is twitchy, Reacts way too quick, There is a t-bird rack that is 3 turns L to L or would a steering quickner turned around help? Any other Ideas, Alinement is good , Pump pressure and flow are not a problem

I've used quickener's on the street with no problem, don't see why they wouldn't work just fine reversed... Also, there is a 1.5:1 out now as well as the regular 2:1...don't know how much you want to slow it down.

    22-203f

Check NAPA part number 22-203F. This is a Tbird power rack. I believe it is 3 L to L. NAPA has a catalogue that will give the specs. on all the various racks they carry.

It is a TCI Kit so it "should" be correct and not mismatched, It tracks good but just seems to react to any little input way too fast. It is also a short wheelbase vehicle which doesn't help.

What alignment specs did you use? I in the past month have put my '31 A on the road. It is a full TCI chassis with IFS (103.5" wheel base). My original alignment was to their specs - which made for a real interesting ride the first time I really pushed the speed. It was like a boat doing a chine walk scary ride.

I do have fairly large tires as well (big in the back and not quite so big in the front)

Their camber = 1/4 deg. neg, I'm at about 3/4 deg neg
    their caster = 1-1/2deg, I'm now at 3+ a bit(and might do another degree)
Their toe in = 1/32, I'm at 3/32nds (and will do one more turn on one tie rod end for a full 1/8")

I pushed it a bit and did some crowned roads yesterday, totally different driving car. No more wander, no more twitchiness but it needs just a bit more.

My son inlaw did the alignment at his work. He said I had the toe right on, Caster was adjusted to 3+ and I don't remember where he said the camber was. If I change to the slower rack He will get to do it again.

The 22-203F is supost to be the 3 turn , Ordered one. it came and is 2 1/2 turns Seems the rebuilders don't care which one goes in which box, I have talked with one person that has ordered 4 times before he got the correct one and the parts guys don't understand and think I'm goofy (well that part might be)
