I just had a similiar problem looking for a Rack. My Ford F-1 has a Fatman crossmember ( Easy to tell Fatman from the rest, as they use a tubing crossmember and the others seem to use a fabricated crossmember). Fatman's tech guy said they use Racks from Napa ( HUMMMM!!?) from a Mustang II 1974-1978. In my research and from talking to the guy at Fatman he said it should be a 16" center to center bolt spacing. It seems that there are only two different spacings for the Mustangs-- 16" and 15 1/2". I ordered a rack from Flaming River as they seemed to be the only ones with one of the things. The tech guy said it was a 1979 and later MustangII. I was so confused at this point I told them to just send me one. They did and it turned out to be a 15 1/2" center to center spacing.

I was done dealing with all of these people because none of them seem to know what they were talking about. I modified my mounting tabs to fit the Flaming River rack and recorded the parts number just in case I need to replace the one I have in the future, as long as Flaming River stays in business I should be ok.
