The best way is to use an air ride system. Certainly not cheap, but the best way to go. You could check out various vendors selling the parts needed. A lot of people use air springs made by Firestone which are a lot less expensive than the units sold by others (like AirRide). A little fabrication on your part may be necessary. With the money saved you could then invest in a front system from Air Ride specifically designed for the 54.

A friend has his 53 Chevy on an complete Air Ride system and works very well, looks terrific when he drops it in the weeds.
