    Jaguar Spring Rates

     



    Does any know a the spring rates for a Jaguar independent rear end.

    The mounting points are the same as a stock Jag , but there is only

    enough room for coil-overs on the back side. The body is a Studebaker

    Lark on a fabricated frame with a Mustang II kit front end and a AMC

    Indy motor .

    If nobody gives you a definitive answer, use two 150# springs, one on each side of the car for a start. You may have to adjust lighter or heavier, but if you buy the springs with the understanding that you can return them for different ones, you'll be ok. Here's a good company to begin with:

    Do you mean 4-300 pound springs??? I think I would be down around 125 or 150 just to have a decent ride. Why so much spring, what does the back half of the car weigh?????

    Not that much Dave, I had a '59 that I drove in high school and you couldn't hook it up even with the stock 259. It was very light. I think that a total of 300 lbs. would be a God's plenty.

    I only have room for the rear springs. So I will only be using 1 spring
    on each side. The reason for the heaver springs is the fact that the
    Jag independent rear pivots close to the center of the car similar to
    a front A Frame that uses heaver springs. I was looking for someone
    that has run a similar set up. 1923sst is using two 175# springs on each side on a 1950 # car so one 300# spring might be about right .
