    Unhappy Modern T Suspension

I am a hod rod enthusiest and I am planning to build a Model T pickup hot rod. I have been looking for a modern suspension set up for it but have not been able to find one. Is there such a thing or do I have to fabricate my own? And if so what is the best setup to use.

    Thanks.

Modern, as in? Are you talking about coil springs, coilovers, independant, etc?

Give us more specific info. Welcome to the forum BTW.

Maybe I should ask you what you guys would do. How do You set up your hot rods and what kind of suspension should be used for a hot rod setup. I would probalbly use a solid axel setup in both front and back. With coil overs. Maybe this is a little more info.

    Thanks Anthony

Pick up a Street Rodder magazine. There are a TON of aftermarket suspension supplier ads in that rag. Pick a few and check them out...
you'll find complete chassis down to individual nuts and bolts. The list is endless...

Ok Anthony, now we have something to bite into. When you say straight axles, I assume you mean non-independent rear (like regular Fords, Chevies, etc have) and a straight axle front, as in early Fords.

Being a tradionalist, I usually only use cross leaf spring setups in my rods, but there have been many people who have used coilovers ( especially on the rear) with success. One of my cars is using this setup right now on the rear.

I would suggest you pick up a Speedway catalog, as it contains a lot of info on just about every aspect of these suspension systems, and gives a lot of tips also. The local bookstore will also have some "how to build Hot Rod" types of books that will give you a ton of info.

I just orderd a complete front end set up from Speedway Motors... The people there are really knowledgable and have a large selection of parts. Total Performance is also a good place to look since they are large supplier of Hot Rod "T" parts. You should spend some time looking over their web sights, they have many different options and I am sure you will find something that fits your needs...
