Hello all, newbie here and would appreciate some input.

My father has a 1955 2nd series pickup that needs loads of work.
The first part of the truck that needs immediate attention is the rear axle.
What are my options for replacing this. I would probably perfer a stock
replacement but would also like to hear some alternatives as lowering
it in the future will probably be desireable. What year chevys are compatiple
with this 55 ?
