Caster Setting
Have a 32 Ford with dropped super bell axle. What is the recommended caster?
Thanks

I have to look it up every time I do it, but I think 4 to 7 degrees.

Pete and Jakes recommends 6 to 8. I use seven.Jack

Seven degrees works good in my 32 Ford.
My question is that the spring shackles look to be almost "in a bind" when I dial that much caster into it. I think I saw Duece Factory(?) advertise a shackle mount that allows the the spring to center after the caster is set.

Yeah, if your car is sitting on a rake, and you are tilting the axle the opposite way, there can be that "bind" you mention. Speedway has "adjustable spring perches" in their catalog that swivel in that plane.
Never used them, but see how they would work. My '27 is raked and there seems to be no unacceptable angles between the spring and axle, but every setup is different, so maybe yours is raked more, or maybe your crossmember was installed with no angle to it.
If you are concerned though, the ones Speedway and others (probably) have should solve the problem.

well I decided to do another mod to gain max travel of bars past the intended travel points just for that peace of mind. 1/8 inch is to close so now I'll have 1/2" or better. I cut a 3/16" wall...
