40 chevy RE swap, whats a good fit ?

I have a 40 chevy tudor i am starting soon , and need to start shopping for a rearend , what have you guys used m i think the 40 - 48 rears are the same length from flange to flange , I have all of those charts , giving dimensions , but most seem to only give either spring pad widths or backing plate to backing plate width , the last of which is next to useless info,
I hear 55-64 chevy is a good fit and 55-7 may just bolt in with the pilot holes moved forward a bit-????
also heard the same for the 19?? camao/firechicken rears , anyone know for sure??? Thanks in advance D/G
