suspension?
I pick up a 70 coupe deville, I want to get the best ride and handelings I can get. Is the air bag suspension the way to go. Or is replacing all the original bushing and springs and shocks my best bet.Last edited by TedIII; 11-22-2005 at 06:34 PM.

I would think that replacing all the worn bushings and adding new shocks would be as good as it get. I don't know how you are going to otherwise improve the ride of a big Cadillac.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

A big 70's Caddy with all new OEM or better components would be tough to beat... IMO air ride wouldn't be as good a ride as the suspension put back to all original specs.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I agree, air would be a lot of work for no improvement. The Caddie's reason for existence was a cushy ride, why mess with GM's float boat?

Thanks for the reality check! Original is much cheaper too.http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/tzamk2/

But with air ride you can change the stance of your deville with the push of a button, and still retain that cushy ride you love. I'd bag it. get with the times and upgrade. If at first you don't succeed... skydiving probably isn't for you.

Being able to set ride height is real appealing, without giving up any ride comfort is a big plus.http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/tzamk2/

Good to have her home finally, still need to go back and give her another polish after messing with the engine stuff. Made it up to Idaho. Also a local show.
