Question 51 Chevy Pick Up - S10 Frame

I need some Help finding out what S10 i would have to get. I don't know what year is good for this projekt. do i need a shortbed, extended cab? I could buy a regular cab right now for a good price but would that be the one to go for? i don't know. or how about a 67 pick up frame? did they have power brakes and powersteering already? what else could i use besides a s10 frame?
    Any Information would be helpful

My understanding is the s-10 really hasn't changed much over the years. Besides the different wheel bases for short/long bed I've heard that the front and rear frame horns were different between the boxy and curvy body styles.

The track width might be a bit narrow for a 51 pickup though.

I have seen several 47-54 panel vans on full size chevy car frames. 1977-1996 chevy caprice/impala, Oldsmobile delta 88/98, cadillacs, buick electra etc...

Of course just any full size chevy truck frame works also, usually you see that for making the old truck into a 4x4.

Friend of mine has a 1951 pontiac sedan delievery that will ride on a 82 caprice frame when done. The wheel base of the caprice is a little shorter but the frame isn't that good so the suspension sections will be cut out then the middle and ends of the frame will be fabricated from steel tubing.

Of course this project is a while off as I need to swap frames on the 82 caprice first, then my friend has to get off his ___ and actually do some work. The sedan delievery is in pretty bad shape too, will need a completely new floor pan, lower quarters, rocker panels, doors, door posts where the hinges are at, front clip.... So it will end up a pretty nice custom job.
