coil over tensioning
This is probably a stupid question to anyone who has done it, but how do you tighten up on coil overs with that adjusting bottom?
I know the bottom of the shock is threaded so you can turn it and raise the base which tightens up on the spring, but how do you grip on to that thing?
Is there a special tool made for that? I see it has a couple of holes in the sides, I imagine something should key into those.

you need a spanner wrench tcodi. there are allen head set screws in those holes. take the wt. off of the spring and loosen the set screws and you can probably turn the nut with your hand. i ran them on my round track car and i could adj. them by hand after i jacked the car up. if they haven't been turned in a while they may need to be cleaned and oiled up.Mike

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
