Chevy p/s pump and Ford rack & pinion?
I'm trying to help a friend who installed Ford rack & pinion steering (out of a '90's T Bird) and a Chevy small block with the Chevy power steering pump.
The p/s isn't giving enough power assist at idle with the car sitting still.
We know the pump can be modified for more pressure OR more volumn. Which would help in this instance?

I have a t-bird rack and chevy ps pump, the problem usually is TOO MUCH pressure from the gm pump and that was my problem. I bought a kit for $16.00 from Borgesons to reduce the pressure. In my case I added washers to the pr reg from the kit in yur case which is not normal you would remove washers to increase the pum pressure, may have been modified b4. good luck mine went from no feel to what I think is perfect. about 750psi to about 1050psi was my change per there info instruction packet.
