I have done this before, before the EPA closed most of these businesses down. Worked good for me, make sure whoever is doing it neutralizes the acid, then I used to get some etch primer on everything as soon as I got the car home and got everything scrubbed again. Saves a ton on time and material stripping the car, cleans out all the nooks and crannys, too.
