    Check the frame end of the attached hairpins.

    If you don't want to go under the frame, the strongest method would be to drill holes through both sides of the frame, insert a section of 1/2" ID DOM steel tubing, and rosette weld both sides. Run a bolt clear through and put a locknut on the inside.

    Attach the hairpins by threading the frame rails, and you're taking your life into your hands - at least IMSHO.
