1950 ply suburban drivetrain swap
hello, im, street rodding a 1950 plymouth suburban wagon and am wondering as to the ease of slipping a 327-auto setup in it also what rearend seems to work well with this car. also don't know about the front suspension. any help will be great.

Well I dont know as to how hard it would be to install the 327/auto combo, but since ive seen small hemis and sb dodges in them and theyre quite simmilar in size, id doubt it would be much harder to do.
I dont know about what the best rearend to replace the stocker would be, only to say im fairly unhappy with mine as well.
Actually the mopar front suspension is a fairly decent one for the time, ive seen drop front spindles being made for them if all you want is a drop. I believe it was FatMan Fabrications that was selling them."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

i've been told that the s-10 rear is the way to go but don't know for sure. also do you think the front suspension is ok for a daily driver?

Well since I do drive my 53 plym daily, as its my only registered driver, yeah I think its drivable with the stocker ifs. The only thing you may find a little hard to deal with is the lack of power steering, but its never bothered me since ive never owned anything with it.
If I was to replace my rearend, which ill do someday, id more than likely just use a posi mopar rear, id hate to have a chevy bolt pattern in back and mopar up front, that would mean carying two spare tires."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."
