Plus you better be good with your hands and have a good eye for detail, as it takes alot of feel if you want to do body/paint work.
It doesnt hurt to have alot of artistic talent for custom work.
I always knew what I wanted to do since I was 7 years old , and now make a good living refinishing Autos.
I passed up an art scholarship to Denver University
to paint cars. Been going on 30 years now.

The only thing I can say after all these years in the business is , that it will make your body hurt , as its dirty, unhealthy environment, you are walking on concrete all day and makes your knees weak,
carpel can creep in your wrists from pounding sheetmetal, and your shoulders and back will break down after 30 years of holding onto a sanding block,
