We don't have crescent tools in this part of the country except for the crescent wrench(that i know of) which is the first and probably the best crescent wrench you can buy. ive never seen anything else made by them, but im sure they do. Stanley tools are ok, i think they lean towards the carpenter though. :D

I have a few crescent 3/8 extensions. Their actually pretty tough. Picked up a 3pack at a tool show for $10 with a lifetime warentee:). As for the stanley, No. Their wrenches are break-prone and i havent seen a solid socket from them in years. Their black and yellow screwdrivers are the only good thing ive ever gotten from stanley.

well i havent had any of the sockets to break with 6ft breaker bar me and my brother pulling on it. and i have broke all my screwdrivers must be what ever press they were made in except for 2

and i only got them because i was needing some tools and didnt have the money at the time some of them are with liftime warranty.

oh and the cresent they seem to be holding up pretty good i had a person to give me a hole set that was new to put a starter on for him and it had a liftime warranty on it as well i figured that he needed that starter on pretty BAD. i would like to have a cresent wrench made by cresent to see if it is any better???????

Go to garage sales and estate auctions to pick up tools. I went to one on Saturday and picked up a bunch of screwdrivers and wrenches for a $.25 apiece. For that price if I tear it up, who cares. I have $.25 in it. i have found alot of tools at auctions and got them for next to nothing.

Yeah good idea there too. I am going to just go with Crafstman and hopefully at the end of the summer I will be able to have enough money for a nice big toolbox and a good set of tools enough for me to be able to build any engine and do brake work.

Tim, I am 17 almost 18. I plan to go to the local community college and take Auto Tech and Auto Body and get my associates degree. I am shoving 4 years of classes into 2 years and taking all my core classes over the summer over the internet.
I decided I will go with Matco though.

My hot rods are a 1948 Chevy coupe and a 1966 Ford F100. :D

awsome.. well good luck with ya in the future... i have been accepted to wyotech and i start early october .. the classes im takin is collision refinishing tech.. and street rod fab.. which includes high perf engines and chassis fab so itll be fun.. and this is all crammed in just one year... heh but for tools i go mostly craftsman for... mostly because of the craftsman gurantee...

My taskforce tool set works fine for now, lifetime gaurentee and I belive there produced by craftsmen just not with the craftsmen name.

Tim, yes I did work on them. The 48 isn't and hasn't gotten anywhere yet and won't be for another 3 months now since I just got this 66 Ford. Once I get the brakes and all the maintanance stuff done on the Ford and a few other "looks good" things done then I will focus all my time on the 48 and try to get it done in about almost 2 years. All I know is that the 48 will take a really really long time to finish and thousands of dollars.

Dave, thanks a lot for the link man. Which one are you talking about, the one for 99 bucks? If so then I saw that and it looks like a pretty good price and I may buy them for my truck. If I do the paint myself on the 48 to then I wan't to buy a real nice Devilbiss or something because everything I do on that car I wan't done real nice and have it done easily. heh Thanks a lot though, I haven't looked at Eastwood co's site or nothing for about 3 weeks now. I just got in their new cataloge today.
