    Msd 6a

Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with MSD 6A ignition controllers. I’ve used them on a couple of previous projects and liked the results. My experience has been with the older analog MSD units and I understand that the newer digital units have (had?) reliability issues, of course my information is a few years old and am hoping that the problems have been solved.

Just wondering if anyone has any comments about the MSD boxes.

    Mike,
I think the biggest problem was that the market got flooded with counterfeit MSD 6A units, and MSD got several units that were sent in complaining about performance. From what I recall the REAL 6A units were fine, but it was difficult to tell the difference. BangShift put out this article explaining how to tell - https://bangshift.com/general-news/s...ion-vs-a-fake/
I'm not sure if the counterfeits are still as big a problem or not, but I wouldn't by a bargain priced unit from EvilBay!!

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
