That was one of the biggest problems with those town cars, they used poly tube for the air system and over time they were prone to developing leaks at the fittings. It was common to see one driving down the street with the rear end on the stops, bumper nearly dragging the ground, like there were a few bodies in the trunk. I never messed with one, but was told that replacing the air lines on them took too long for a shop, costing more in labor hours than the value of the car so guys just drove them dragging till they died. I would think with all of the low rider stuff around a guy could replace the system if he wanted to invest the time.
My daughter had one in the late 90's and the bags would and could blow out. If I had one I wanted to keep I'd replace the bags with ones that would handle the weight of the car, they're a heavy vehicle, or replace the suspension.
On a long trip you could almost get seasick, almost like riding out a storm on a troop ship.
You can get the stock springs and replace the bags if needed. If the system needs to re-fill after a few days but stays full while in operation, I wouldn't be overly concerned. But, you know what's coming next..
