Black metallic looking stuff in fuel pump filter & sump
My son called me today and said his truck stopped running about an hour or so after he fueled up. He got the truck towed home & torn down & asked me what would cause this black metallic looking substance in his fuel filter/fuel pump sump in his 2004 Dodge Ram truck. He said it was only in the in-tank pump/filter/sock sump and felt a bit gritty, but the tank looks clean. He fills up his truck every two weeks with gasoline so it shouldn't be old fuel The pump is 3-4yrs old and is a VDO pump. Below is the pictures he sent me.Last edited by TooMany2count; 02-03-2019 at 11:39 AM.
