Making a new label for the '56's heater control

I am wrapping up installing a new HVAC unit in the '56 wagon. The new box is all in, the A/C and heater lines are in, the wiring is mostly done and I have a new outlet and some ducting to install.
One snag I had was getting a new label for the blower control switch. Finding a piece of material with the same kind of texture as the V/A labels was the hard part, until I looked at one of the 3 1/2" floppy discs my shop camera uses...
    This is the old layout.

This is what V/A sent for a label. It would work well on their plastic panel, but not on the original Chevy one... The floppy disc it is pictured with is a perfect match for the texture...

I tore apart a junk disc, sanded down the back side to remove some molded on ribs and trimmed out a new panel.

This covers up all of the old lettering and gives room for new graphics.

Some dry transfer lettering and we are in business!

I layed the new panel over the old one to get the graduations in the right place.

I'll spray some matte clear on this to protect the lettering. This will work great!
    Thanks for looking!
    Mark
