    I can see that maybe I should take this to my tranny guy. I still need to know if my new case will work. Can you all give me some direction on that? Only thing I know is that the valve bodies are the same.

    IMO you'd be well served to take the cracked case unit and your new case to your tranny guy and have him do it right. If the case is somehow different he should be the guy that can tell you, and he also should be the best guy to get you the case you need if it's not right. My opinion, and what I'd do.
