I used the 2" wide black fiberglass wrap from Speedway and it worked fine. I put it in several places, like near the starter and near the brake booster.
The DEI titanium wrap is supposed to be better and doesn't cost much more.

I've used thermotec two inch wrap to great success. I've painted it with high temp rattle can, also to favorable result.
On lower exhaust it doesn't hold up as well, it receives damage from road debris, I suppose..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
