35-40 TCI parabolic rear spring kit... Anyone use it?

Trying to decide which rear kit to use under my 37 sedan.

TCI claims theirs lowers the rear by 4" I am a bit skeptical since they mount springs under the frame like Chassis Engineering instead of inside like Weedetr and Posie's

I would like to drop rear as low as possible without C notch or use of large or any lowering blocks.

Anyone with experience of this kit or other's to accomplish this?

Have you measured the distance between the top of your axle and the bottom of the frame to make sure a 4" drop (plus suspension travel) will work on your car?

Hey there, fftoddster, I would also be a little skeptical about the 4" drop they claim. I also have a '37 Ford sedan. My rear end mounting kit is pieced together with some TCI non-parabolic springs I bought from a guy on craigslist and the front & rear spring mounting brackets came from a streetrod shop in Orange Co that went out of business. I also got a rear sway bar from them. The rear spring shackles go thru the frame rails becuause it seemed certain the kind that mount like TCI's version wouldn't get it as low as I wanted. Even with the ones I got, I still need a 1 or 2" lowering block.
I c-notched over the axle because the axle would definitely bottom out on the bumpstop if anyone was in the back seat.

ya someone on another site confirmed that to get a good ride height he had to use 3" lowering blocks to get a good ride height. / or disgard rear mount and make one mounted inside frame rail as opposed to underneath it.

Guess I will use Posies or Weedetr kit

Just getting started with it. Will be more traditional. Flathead T5 trans 8" rear with adapters to run stock Wheels. Drop axle rev eye Lincoln brakes.

Not going to touch body... just drop it and get it on the road

It's a slantback.... having problems with pics on my computer now
