Hey Denny, I don't know how I missed this thread but since I've been referenced by 40Deluxe, I should probably chime in. I have a '37 tudor humpback that my dad & I built when I was in college. We went Ford in a Ford from the beginning using a 302/C4/9"rear ('57 Ford). It was a challenge to shoehorn everything in there but we did it. I didn't say it was pretty, but it was very functional. A few years ago I began another rebuild of the car. I kept the 302 (now warmed up a bit) but switched to 3 pedals with a T5 stick. While at it, I put in a recessed firewall, new floors, etc....one thing always leads to 1000 more! Ha! Anyway, hopefully, I'll get it finished one of these days!
If money was no object, I think I would consider selling the 302/T5 and squeeze the new Coyote 5.0/6speed in there. I think that would be great fun!!
Welcome to CHR! Look forward to seeing pics of your '38!
Here's pic of mine....
