I was just curious about the Edelbrock carbs. I have been fighting the idle on my truck for too long!! I had the Quadrajet rebuilt and it would not idle in gear no matter what I did. Evidently there is something wrong with the idle circut, or the guy has just breathed in too much carb cleaner!! I put an Edelbrock 750-# 1704 on it and it will idle fine, Iknow I need to put a kit in it. I smell gas after shut down. Do these leak down like the Quadrajets do???, or is just dirt in 1 of the metering rods letting gas get by??
