    Thunderhorse, if in fact Lunati has gone to China cores and like me you still want American Made, here's another source for us;

    Magnum – Ford 460
    Callies now offers high quality domestically produced Magnum crankshafts for the Ford 460 – 429 engine families. These crankshafts are machined from high quality forgings that are heat-treated and metalurgically certified at our facility. Magnum Ford 460’s are counterweighted to balance bob weights up to 2400 grams without the use of heavy metal. We are confident in the ability of our Magnum 460’s to easily withstand the rigors of a 2,000 HP engine.

    Lots of different companies handling Callies, if you need help with a source let me know. We have a good one here locally!

    Boys,

    I'll ask you to stop hijacking threads and take your "personal issues" offline.

    Enough said.

    Does not have much to do with the op but the best mills in the world are still in the US. It is all economics that is why Williams and most top pipeline companies have all their pipe made here to their own specs. API and ASME mill specs can be verified by heat # and grade.

    Import pipe is unverifiable especially from China, No inspections or investigations are done until a death occurs from failure. Mill specs. (heat #) are bogus thus cheaper to buy. By the time a investigation takes place the companies are owned by others and changed names.

    Bill-------

    I have been reading these comments back and forth and also some of my posts have been getting the same treatment from Dave and Roger-

    I need to stand up here and state to the whole club hotrod community that Pat and I are probably the only people on here that machine/build engines and/or deal with all these suppliers on a dailey basis-we not only understand the whys and why nots of engine building but also the issues of types of material for things like cranks,rods,pistons,valves,etc---
    we also have to deal with customer wishes and/or budjets so we are very finely tuned to what is available for what cost to those customers.

    This site is very close to losing me not only because of the picture posting thingie, (and I really want to thank Roger for trying to help me via Photo Bucket) but even more so I'm about ready to call it quits because of Dave's attitude about engine things(yes I do hate bracket racing) and Rogers nit picking about the way my posts are written and I'm 100% sure that Pat is close to doing the same thing.

    You might want to contact Dave privately concerning his attitudes to various people on here as he is the sole reason that many have departed------
