Removing Paint ?without?
The front bumper on my '62 Fairlane has been painted with rattle can silver paint and before I send it to a rechrome shop I would like to know what the actual bumper looks like. My question is what should I use to remove the silver paint that won't damage the finish on the bumper or remove six layers of skin from my hands????
TIA,
meller.

Some paint stripper should work to remove the paint, shouldn't hurt the chrome if you don't leave it on their too long. If it's the typical rattle can job, maybe a rag with some lacquer thinner on it will take it off.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
