Corvair Flow Thru Turbo
Need info on flow thru turbos, anyone have the knowledge
on how to build one? These were on 62-66 Corvairs models.______________________________________________________________________

What do you mean by "flow thru"? Aren't all turbo's "flow thru" by design, either radial flow or axial flow? And what do you mean by "...build one"? Just trying to understand what you're looking for here.Roger

A carbureted turbocharger system can have a suck-through (also called draw-through) carburetor (turbo is wet) or a blow-through carburetor (turbo is dry). For purposes of backfire, blow-through is better.

Thanks guys, techinspector1, your info summed it up pretty good.
Found the turbo guy in Norfolk Va., he builds hi-po turbos for corvairs
only, his prices seem to be fair and turn around time great.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
