Probably this will close this thread.
The dash is back in. The fusible link was eliminated. The fusebox had two damaged terminals which I eliminated. The amps gauge was bypassed by putting all three wires under one lug on the gauge.
The dash was completely removed and installed with one minor glitch, and THAT loose ground was found and corrected..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
