Oh, just read the comments on the black tape. Good stuff. I try to avoid tape whenever possible, but in an application such as this, I end my wrap with a dab of super glue. They never come loose.
BUT, the more I think of it, the more I like using a gauge lug as junction. I think that's how I'll do it.

The dash is back in. The fusible link was eliminated. The fusebox had two damaged terminals which I eliminated. The amps gauge was bypassed by putting all three wires under one lug on the gauge.
The dash was completely removed and installed with one minor glitch, and THAT loose ground was found and corrected.
