Do you have a fuse link, built in to the battery cable. some of these cars do. You might want to splice in a new fuse into the positive battery cable or just replace the whole cable itself if you have one built in. This is probably what it is. When the starter gave out, it might have popped the fuse in the positive battery cable, if you have one.
